Building Berlin with a Korean Rhythm
Lipls began in Seoul, South Korea in 2015 and is now a Berlin-based visual studio.
Our work finds rhythm in the balance of light and shadow, held within a structure as precise as traditional Korean roof tiles. We treat emotion not with sharp exposure, but with the softness of curves like the folds of hanbok gently wrapping the body. Rather than making a strong impression quickly, we aim to create moments that slowly sink in, images that deepen with time.
We work across photography and film — and often in the space in between. From brand messaging to the atmosphere of a space, to the subtle emotion on someone’s face — every element is carefully shaped through our full creative process: planning, shooting, directing, and editing.
White space. Texture. Rhythm.
What we do is give shape to the emotions and air that exist between the visible.

A Brand Born from a Box
The name Lipls was inspired by the box the aviator drew for the Little Prince.
The prince looked through drawing after drawing of sheep, yet none of them moved his heart. Then, as he gazed at a simple drawing of a box, he quietly said:
“That’s it. The sheep I wanted is inside.”
Sometimes, a drawing that doesn’t reveal everything can hold so much more. That’s the kind of scene we want to create — images that linger longer than explanation, and evoke more feeling than structure.
Lipls doesn’t present a fixed answer. We offer a small frame — like a box — where your story can quietly stay.
And if, within that frame, you come upon the scene you’ve been waiting for, then that is the result we hope for most.
